CUBEOpen 2011 submissions Deadline Extended!
4 October 2011 - 11 November 2011
The University of Salford's CUBE gallery is delighted to be announcing its annual CUBEOpen 2011.
CUBEOpen is the UK’s only annual open competition and exhibition of its kind! Launched in 2007, artists, architects and designers are invited to apply with work that reflects current trends and debates surrounding the spaces and places in which we live. Each year the exhibition highlights contemporary insights into the urban environment. We accept applications from artists, architects and designers whose practice reflects these themes.
An esteemed panel of judges will select the applications anonymously. Selectors this year include:
Robert Powell - Creative Director Beam Wakefield
Paul Herrmann - Director Red Eye Photography Network
Jane Anderson - Creative Director CUBE
Stephen Whittle - Collections Curator The University of Salford
In the past CUBEOpen has had fantastic reviews in national press including The Guardian and The Times.
The most outstanding project will be offered the fantastic opportunity to be a resident at
CUBE Gallery as part of
CUBELab 2012. Two runners up will be given honourable mentions.
We are also pleased to announce, through a new collaboration with
BEAM, the opportunity to participate in a summer residency in 2012 at unique headquarters, The Orangery in Wakefield.
