Be

be a photographer be a designer be an artist be an illustrator be creative be more than a wannabe, be yourself

It’s advice we give to all our students. Skills can be taught and knowledge can be acquired. But what distinguishes individuals, what makes them special is that sense of themselves they bring to their work: their own essence or a new voice brought about by a variety of circumstances. It could be upbringing, background, who they admire, even genetic influences. But it’s what makes each and every student an exciting prospect. And it’s what makes the end of year show such an exciting event.

be part of something special

Blackpool School of Art & Design is one of the most vibrant colleges in the North West. It provides a range of relevant and thriving vocational courses and is structured to respond to the ever-changing demands of the creative industries.

be-all and end-all

This year the Summer term will end in a flourish with a thrilling exhibition entitled ‘be’ at Cube, Manchester, Blackpool School of Art, Sustain and New Designers London. Also on show, the students who created the work so be there and you can meet them. be impressed

be will feature award winning and cutting edge work that reflects the students’ learning experience. Come and hear what they have to say about their work, question them on their motivation, inspiration and ambitions. It’s also an ideal forum for discussing burning issues such as the relevance of art & design, the relationship between the arts and the environment, sustainability and the future of design.
