The Perfect Evening: CUBE will be open until 8pm on Thursday 9th Sept.

CUBE’s latest transformation into a sculpture, TV programme and art video is courtesy of the International artist Christian Jankowski.

For his latest work, known media manipulator Jankowski worked with TV designer and 'House Invaders' presenter Gordon Whistance. In this one-off BBC documentary Whistance, who is relatively unfamiliar with contemporary art, demonstrates his idea of a perfect exhibition space using the Pump House Gallery in London as an example.

When asked about “The Perfect Gallery”, the artist states: “When I was asked to make an exhibition for the space I had in mind the fact that gallery architecture is often talked about more than the art inside it.”

CUBE was originally designed as a gallery and architecture centre in 1998. This will be the first time since opening it's doors to the public that visitors to the exhibition will be able to focus on the architecture of the space, watch a BBC TV programme and question - what makes a perfect gallery?
